Google’s New Interface

With effect from 05 May 2010 Google have changed its appearances on its homepage and in the search result page. After a successful completion of testing for a certain period, Google have applied its changes. This changes includes a vibrant color change in the Google logo, a bigger and sophisticated search box which includes a search button.

Google have changed its appearances on the SERP too with powerful tools to enhance our queries. There is a new left-hand side panel which has navigation tools to refine our queries. The three technologies Universal Search, Search Options Panel and Google Squared have been merged in order to make this navigation panel more powerful enough to refine the search results. The left hand panel builds on universal search by providing suggestions with the most relevant genres of results and also making you to switch between different types of result. The “Everything” option now allows to merge with the different types of result with the main result and also now it restricts the results by providing what you exactly need. The Expandable Search Option provides a new and different view on the search result .

Google Squared which is used to find other objects, which matches to your search. With this feature you can not only grab your expected result but also you can get similar results related to your search.

Google said “We’ve been testing these changes with users over the past few months, and what we’re launching today reflects the feedback we’ve received.. We want to ensure that the Google you use today is better than the one you used yesterday, and these latest changes open up many possibilities for future features and enhancements.”

The new interface provides a bold look and its enhanced features makes the user to get what they really need . With these cool changes Google have made it more user-friendly and have reduced the complications in searching.
